HDD Laborer

Under close supervision, the
HDD Laborer
performs physical activities in support of completing utility work. This position performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor work, uses hand and power operated tools, and trains and assists in the operation of equipment and trucks. Assists a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed.
This position is located in Oklahoma.
Responsibilities:
Arrive at the job site and set up proper safety signs, cones, and prepare the job site.
Identify utilities in the bore path when marked and identify any possible utilities that are not marked.
Operate various digging equipment, install handholes, flower pots and other devices
Digging trenches, pits, and potholing manually or using mechanical equipment.
Assembly of back reaming and pull back equipment.
Splices conduit, install sweeps, pedestals, vaults, and ground rods.
Restoration of disturbed ground throughout a job site
Tear down and clean up a job site.
Maintain and properly use all associated tooling.
Following instructions for other tasks provided by the site foreman or underground supervisor.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the truck and trailer the crew will be using that day. This includes checking the fluid levels of the truck and keeping the truck clean, neat, and organized.
Read and interpret documents in the form of work orders, including (but not limited to) strand maps, PDF prints, blueprints, and any other CATV/fiber related documents.
Be prepared with all proper PPE and should consider safety as top priority on the job site.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications: All positions require participation in the federally compliant FMSCA drug and alcohol testing program. This includes both pre-employment and ongoing random testing.
High school diploma, GED certificate, or equivalency.
Possesses a valid US driver's license. Class A CDL with clean driving record required.
Ability to pass DOT pre-employment screening.
Experience related to traffic control and roadside work zones a plus.
Ability to learn to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor tasks.
Ability to work in an outdoor environment during extreme weather conditions at all times of the year.
Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, and perform other related physical activities for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and operate necessary materials to include small hand tools, power tools in a safe manner. Familiarity with Ditchwitch vacs and drills a plus.
Ability to lift and carry between 50 lbs. to 80 lbs. on a regular basis.
Ability to travel and work extended hours; overtime and weekends as needed.
Positive attitude and good work ethic
Must work well with others and be willing to learn from mentors and others in the shop or field.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to read street signs and simple written material.
Must keep a safe and clean worksite.
Authorized to work in the United States.
